Located in the old mounted police barracks (1851) with the police armoury next door, it has displays relating to the enforcement of laws and police practices over the years.
I have had a bit of trouble locating this museum and am following uo other leads. I suspect it may have moved tp the old barracks at Thebarton near the old gaol.
A visit to see the magnificent buildings behind the library off Kintore Road is worth a visit anyway. This magificent stone building was the armoury. Stables will be found on the western side where there are now some lunch tables for staff.
The rest of the old barracks, around the central lawns, are used as administration offices for the museum and library.
If you can find the museum, it should be open at weekends and on public holidays from 1pm. to 5pm. and is closed Good Friday and Christmas Day
