Signifiocant town between Goulburn and Bathurst. Australia's first wind farm (1998) just south, Historic buildings and wide verandahed streets. Information centre, shopping centre, motels, hotels, caravan park etc. The Country Women's Association, now a National and International network was formed in Cookwell in 1922.
