Panorama over Junee
Getting sidetracked in Junee
A town built when people travelled by rail, walked to the shops and strolled on Sundays, Junee captures the beauty and history of rural Australia and combines this with a sophisticated air and modern facilities . Set in the last gasp of the south west slopes, with historic and quirky attractions, a rolling landscape, plenty of dining options and a beautifully preserved streetscape Junee tops the list as a daytrip destination.
Take a self-guided stroll commencing at the sweeping platforms and grand square of the French Renaissance railway station, and taking in the heritage streetscapes and buildings and the bowers and blooms of town. Around meal time youšll find what you fancy in Junee. A gourmet wrap, a latte in the sun, country pub lunch, fish and chips or a la carte and a glass of something nice.
The rising hills, distinct seasons and changing colours of the farmscapes of Junee make driving a pleasure any time of the year. From Canberra take the Gundagai Road to Junee and enjoy Australiašs little piece of Tuscany. This beautiful drive hugs the curves of the Murrumbidgee River, with grapevines clinging to hillsides and cattle grazing on lucerne flats.

Junee Chocolate and Licorice Factory
When Neil Druce purchased the old Junee Flour Mill to mill the organic grains his family grows, he had no idea he would wind up running a chocolate factory. With the original flours and bread mixes, Neil and his team at the Junee Chocolate and Licorice Factory produce a delicious range of organic licorice and chocolate. You can learn the dark secrets of licorice, dine in the sunny courtyard, and stock up on organic products. Open daily 10am till 4pm for visitoršs convenience.
