Southern entrance to the park
The Pinnacles are a popular feature to visit.
|
This national park will be found along the coast north and south of Eden and covers two rocky and
spectacular stretches of coast-line. Vivid rock formations and sea-caves, flowering heath and
Banksia forests will be seen, and the old Davison Whaling Station on the shores of Twofold Bay was
the last of the state's whaling sites.
Picnic areas are situated at The Pinnacles and at Haycock Point, from where many fine bushwalks can
be enjoyed.
The Pinnacles are 10km north of Eden and date back some 65 million years to when the soft white sand
laid the foundations for the present outcrops, now spectacularly capped by red clay.
There is a lookout towards The Pinnacles from the opposite cliff reached by a short path along the beach.
