On the Darling River east of Bourke, this town offers river-fishing and is at the centre of a large wheat and wool growing area.
Aboriginal stone fish traps can be seen on the River. These are believed to be some 40,000 years old and the oldest constructed structures in the world. The 500 metre long traps filled with fish when waters surged which remained trapped as the level dropped, creating a permanent supply for the aboriginal tribes.
Some historic buildings and the Aboriginal Cultural Museum are places to visit. There is a wildlife park in Doyle Street.
