Mining town on the Barrier Hwy in western NSW and an ideal stepping off point for tours of the outback. Visit the Great Cobar Outback Heritage Centre with mining, pastoral and technological displays. Cobar is between Sydney and Broken Hill, and on the newly sealed Kidman Way, from Hay to the Queensland border where it becomes the Matilda Highway.
