Near the Warrumbungle National Park this historic town is at the centre of a wool and agricultural centre. The Gilgandra Heritage Museum contains artefacts and memorabilia of the region,especially the 1915 Coo-ee March which began in Gilgandra. A Rural Museum contains farm machinery.
