Scenic Drives, swimming and surfing 25km east at Forster. Surrounded by state forests.
In the Wallamba Valley it is typical of many small North Coast towns on the Pacific Hwy and began in the second half of the 19th century as a small river port for loading cedar trees for the Sydney market.
Later industry included dairying and agriculture, especially corn.
In the mid-1950s, the Pacific Highway was re-aligned and Nabiac is now more of a service town for travellers along the highway and to the nearby Lakes area.

Poet Les Murray was born and attended school here.
