The Temora Aviation Museum |
Founded on the discovery of gold in 1879, by 1881 the district
was producing half the output for the state and had a population of around 20,000. Some buildings
from this era remain in this medium size administration centre for a large rural region. In recent times the building of the Temora Aviation Museum at the airport, just north of town, has re-vitalised Temora with large numbers of visitors to the museum which boasts many displays and two working Spitfires from World War 2.
