NSW AREAS IN BRIEF

BIG SKY COUNTRY Vast area in the north of the state joining the Queensland border. Includes Glen Innes, Moree and the Saddlery at Tenterfield

HUNTER VALLEY New South Wales premier wine production region north of Sydney. Historic Maitlan is at the centre and there are dozens of wineries to visit.
ILLAWARRA South through the Royal National Park to the area around Wollongong. Beaches, mountains.
LORD HOWE ISLAND Take a plane or cruise to explore fabulous Lord Howe Island off the eastern coast.
NORTH COAST Coastal region from Taree to around Nambucca Heads. Beaches, pretty seaside towns, banana growing.
NORTHERN RIVERS On the north east coast from Coorinda Beach north to the Queensland Border. Contains some of Australia's largest rivers. Major towns include Grafton,Ballina and Treed Heads
RIVERINA The Riverina lies either side if the Murrumbidgee River which rises near Canberra and flows west nearly to the border. In the east it includes Gundagai and to the west, Hay and Griffith.
SNOWY MOUNTAINS New South Wales exciting and scenic ski area south of Canberra. Contains Mt Kosciusko and the southern alps. Towns include Cooma and Tumut, and there are several ski resorts
SOUTH COAST Highly productive dairy area with superb beaches. Extends from the Victorian border to Nowra.
SYDNEY AND AREA Australia's first settlement and most exciting city and what o do in and around it. Higlights are The Roscks, Kings Cross, and the Harbour.
THE LIVING OUTBACK Visit the real outback. Remote towns and sparse ground cover make this a wonder to behold. Includes Bourke, Broken Hill and Cobar.
THE MURRAY Stretches along the north bank of our biggest river from Albury to the South Australian border. Paddle steamers ply the river and houseboat holidays are popular.
