Pearl Powell.

Pearl Powell was a pioneer woman of Central Australia and is featured in the National Womens Hall of Fame in Alice Springs. Her book, "By Packhorse and Buggy" co-written with her daughter Eileen McRae in 1996 describes the early days of Alice Springs and Central Australia from the 1920 when she grew up Alice Springs. Her childhood memories evoke an abundant Central Australia where enterprise is thriving and early settlers are rewarded for their efforts.
