Angaston is located in the Barossa Valley, 85 km. east of Adelaide, and east
of Nuriootpa and Tanunda and is one of the three major towns in the Barossa Valley Named after prominent South Australian, George Fife Angas, the pioneer influence of the Barossa Valley is well noted in this pretty township. With well established parks and a creek meandering through the town, it is an ideal place to relax and explore the Barossa. There are dried fruits available from processing factories in the town, and several wineries will be found, including two of the oldest in the area. Nearby, Collingrove Homestead, built for John Angas in 1854, is now under the protection of the National Trust and is worth a visit, and Lindsay Park, built in 1848 by George Fife Angas, and now the stables of the prominent Hayes Family, is also nearby.
