Meningie is located 150 Km. south east of Adelaide on the Princes Highway, and
on the shores of Lake Albert. It is the northern gateway to The Coorong National
Park. The pretty lakeside town is a popular fishing, swimming and relaxing resort and there are adequate shopping services, a fabulous bakery, two motels, an hotel, and a caravan park. Nearby cottages in The Coorong are also popular destinations. For the golfer there is a fine course at the southern end of town, the hotel provides TAB services and fresh bait is available for fishing. Meningire was once the southern terminus for paddle steamers crossing Lake Alexandrina from Goolwa and Milang. PLACES OF INTEREST: ACCOMMODATION & SERVICES: |
