EXPLORING THE OODNADATTA TRACK.

The Oodnadatta Track has become a popular alternative route between Alice Springs andAdelaide since the sealing of the Stuart Highway in 1980. 4WD vehicles are required afterheavy rains but at most times conventional vehicles can explore this historic route whichclosely follows that of John McDouall Stuart and the old telegraph line and 'Ghan' Railway.
There are many reminders of this past along the track with monuments, ruins and railway track close to the road.
Be sure you make a few wise decisions before you leave, have good camping equipment, and notifya responsible person of your departure and expected arrival times and you can relax and enjoy thewonderful country which comprises the vast Australian outback.
Accommodation is available at Marree, Oodnadatta and Marla. There are camping spots all along the way.
