Built in 1863 in Glasgow, Scotland
627 ton iron barque. Wrecked off Warrnambool, in 1888. No lives lost.
Wreck located in 1985.
The Edinburgh Castle arrived in Lady Bay at Warrnambool on 15th. Jan. 1888 after a 3 month voyage from England with a cargo of, mainly, cement for construction of the Warrnambool breakwater.
While under pilot's instruction she ran aground and broke up before much of the cargo could be removed.
In October 1985 Colin Goodall and Peter Ronald located the wreck in the bay and dived on it.
