Accessible by the old highway between Breadalbane roundabout and Launceston via Kings Meadows, this
Georgian style house is a fine example of the period. Restored by the National Trust, and furnished in
period style, it was built in 1838 for Mr Britton Jones, an early Launceston brewer and innkeeper. In 1942 it became
the W.K. Hawkes School for Boys.
