Huon Valley Apple & Heritage Museum - Huonville
This fascinating Museum is located along the 'Grove Straight', just north of Huonville on the Huon Hwy.
Located in a large shed once used for packing apples, the displays include over 500 varieties of apples, restored machines and a carpenter's and blacksmith's shop.
Guided tours are conducted if required and you will be taken through the history of apple growing, picking and packing in the Huon valley for over 100 years. It was the high quality and quantity of apples from the Huon Valley which earned Tasmanian the nickname 'The Apple Isle'.
The Museum is open daily from 9am to 5pm from September to May, and from 10am to 4pm. from June to August. It is closed in June and on Christmas Day.

TAHUNE POTTERY
At the rear of the Museum potters produce fine quality stoneware and terracotta pots. You can watch them at work and if you want, order products to your own specifications.
The Tahune Pottery is open weekdays from 8.30am. to 4pm.
