You can learn all about wooden boat construction and the history of boat building at this centre in Franklin on the banks of the Huon River.
Embrace the beauty and fragrance of local timbers as you watch craftsmen transform them into superbly crafted vessels before your eyes.
See the tools and maritime artifacts, admire the boats, and choose a souvenir from the shop.
Open daily 9.30am - 5pm. (Closed Christmas Day)
Hobart also has a Wooden Boat Festival held annually in the docks precinct and attracting hundreds of boats, including some large ones, for display along the waterfront.
