Boat Harbour is a small town with a shop and school on the Bass Hwy west of Wynyard. Leadlighting display and manufacturing. The nearby beach is a popular and scenic holiday resort.
Located just off the Bass Highway the scenic township of Boat Harbour Beach is fast becoming a extremely popular holiday resort. White sandy beaches and clear, clean blue waters make this a popular place to explore and relax. The cresent-shaped beach is noted, in particular, for its clear waters and safe swimming.
Shelter Point offers views of Sisters Island, Rocky Cape and Table Cape while well appointed foreshore reserves provide playgrounds, BBQ and picnic areas. Boat Harbour Beach has ample accommodation options and shopping amenities.
Boat Harbour township is on the Bass HIghway and a central location for touring the Rocky Cape National Park (rare fauna and flora), Sisters Beach (native gardens) and the Lapoinya Rhododendron Gardens to the west.
What to see and do:
Rock and coral formations, diving, underwater photography, swimming and fishing.
There is an interesting leadlighting gallery on the south side of the road just before Boat Harbour coming from the east, and a the Killynaught restaurant and cottage accommodation opposite and back a bit.

From Launceston
Take the Bass Hwy west from Launceston or Devonport via Burnie and take the Boat Harbour Turnoff west of Wynyard.
There is an airport at Wynyard.
