The quaint township of Hastings and its surrounds offer an array of
natural wonders. Nearby Lune River is littered with pretty semi precious
gems for the keen fossicker and is the location of the old (and now restored
and operational) Ida Bay
Railway. The Hastings Caves and Thermal Springs are among my first memories of places to visit in Tasmania and, with the Salmon ponds at Plenty, were important features in the development of Tasmanian tourism. See Hastings Caves. | |
