Cash crops, dairying and fishing are the main activities around Wynyard, which is at the mouth of the Inglis River and just a short distance from Table Cape, one of Tasmania's dominant coastal landmarks. This is a particularly fertile part of the state, as evidenced in commercial tulip farm and rhododendron gardens, as well as farmlands.
