Historic bushranger town where Ned Kelly and his gang
fought with the police and Kelly was captured. Large statue of Ned in the main street.

He later stood trial in Melbourne and was hanged. There is a massive statue of Kelly in the main street overlooking the shopping centre, and a replica of the Kelly homestead and blacksmith shop in Gladstone St. There is an hotel and a coffee lounge - cafe in the main street and it is not a long walk to stroll the length of the main street and absorb all the Kelly atmosphere.
