The largest town along the Great Ocean Road and a popular tourist resort surrounded by the Angahook - Lorne State Forest. Plenty of varied accommodation, hotels, motels, large shopping centre. Like many towns along the road it began as a logging centre and developed as a tourism centre because of its scenic attractions and beach.
