EXPLORING THE BELLARINE AREA.
You can reach Geelong and the Bellarine Peninsula from Melbourne in two ways. The direct
route is to take the Princes Freeway (Geelong Road) through Werribee to Geelong and turn back
east where you see the signs in Geelong to the Bellarine Peninsula. Allternatively, you can
travel down the Mornington Peninsula through Frankston and Mornington to Sorrento and
take the ferry to Queenscliff.
A comprehensive tour from Melbourne can include the Great Ocean Road and will take several days.
To do this take the Mornington Peninsula route, cross on the ferry, explore both peninsulas
and travel into Geelong where you join the Surfcoast highway to Torquay and the Great Ocean Road.
From Warrnambool you can either return to Geelong along the Princes Hwy through Camperdown and
Colac or continue north through Dunkeld into the Grampians and back along the Western Hwy
through Ballarat.
Whichever way you go you will see an interesting and attractive part of Victoria and get an
idea of the diversity and beauty of Victoria.
