Glenrowan is all about Ned Kelly the bushranger. It was here he had his final showdown with police in 1880 and was captured. He later stood trial in Melbourne and was hanged.
There is a massive statue of Kelly in the main street overlooking the shopping centre, and a replica of the Kelly homestead and blacksmith shop in Gladstone St.
There is an hotel and a coffee lounge - cafe in the main street and it is not a long walk to stroll the length of the main street and absorb all the Kelly atmosphere.
Nearby is the Warby Range State Park which extends 25km north of Glenrowan and has several lookouts over the surrounding countryside.
