Ocean Grove is a seaside resort on the Bellarine Peninsula at the mouth of the Barwon River,
with nearby beaches open to Bass Strait. It is one of the largest commercial centres on the Peninsula and its religious origins means there is no hotel in the town. There is however, a fine establishment just across the bridge in Barwon Heads. Plenty of accommodation is available, and it is an ideal place from which to explore the Bellarine Peninsula. A short trip to Amaze 'N Things, the Jirrahlinga Sanctuary, and the Ocean Grove Nature Reserve is a good family outing. There is a 9 hole golf course open to the public. PLACES OF INTEREST: Swan Bay Rd. Wallington Ph: 03 5250 2756 Situated between Geelong and Queenscliff it is easily recognised by the big windmill. A 100m. water-slide, Go-Karts, Aqua-bikes and canoes, paddle-boats and games like volleyball and hammerball are available. there is a 9 hole Par 3 golf course on Dunny Island and other activities include archery and totem tennis. There are BBQ and picnic areas and a kiosk supplies Devonshire Teas and Cappuccino. Between the Bellarine Highway and Ocean Grove, it contains the only natural woodlands on the peninsula. Established in 1962 it has extensive walking trails and bird hides to observe the 132 species which frequent the reserve. There is an information centre in the grounds which is open most weekends and there is a picnic area adjacent to the car park.
