Remote roadhouse on the Gunbarrel Hwy between Laverton or Wiluna and Ayers Rock. It is named after explorer Peter Warburton who was the first European to traverse the Great Sandy Desert. Warburton has an airstrip, a community store, health clinic and a swimming pool. 90 percent of the population are aboriginal and visitors and tourists need a permit from the Ngaanyatjarra Council to enter the town and use any of the highways in the area.
