Coastal surfing town near the Yuraygir National Park and Maclean
which offers spectacular views from many walking trails.
A local attraction is the group of blue and green freshwater pools
created when the old quarries hit underground springs. Miners working on the
quarries arrived next
morning to see the quarries filled with water.
The pools are less than 20 metres from the ocean, and the two bodies of water
are only separated by mounds of quarried rock and earth.
