Huskisson is twenty minutes south east of Nowra (21 km), and is the main gateway to world-famous Jervis Bay. At the beginning of the 19th century Huskisson's main industry was boat building, whilst now it is fishing and tourism.
Huskisson has one of the prettiest harbours on the south coast, and if you want to learn about its maritime past you should visit the Lady Denman Heritage Complex. This features a fascinating maritime museum, the offices of the Jervis Bay Marine Authority and an aboriginal art and crafts centre.
Huskisson also has:
An interesting antique shop, the Trading Post, which also serves as the local tourist information centre.
A charming old cinema, Huskisson Pictures, with low admission charges for a movie!
Many wonderful white-sand beaches
Numerous activites available, such as: fishing, diving, sailing, surfing, charter boats, bushwalking, bowls, golf, dolphin and whale watching, and tennis.
A lovely bakery, famous for its spinach, cheese and chives bread and its classic meat pies.
A choice of restaurants
A wide range of accommodation, from B&Bs and guesthouses, to cabins and motels.
Huskisson is a great base for exploring the Jervis Bay Territory, or as a stop-off on your way south (although once you've stopped here, you may not want to continue any further).
