ULVERSTONE AREA TOURING MAP

Exploring around Ulverstone.

From Ulverstone take the bridge across the Leven River and turn right towards Penguin. The road follows the coast and enters Penguin from the east through the beautiful gardens along the foreshore and into the main street. Explore the town and continue through and turn on to the B17 towards Riana and follow the road, across the Bass Hwy, and on to Gunns Plains where you can visit the wildlife centre, Gunns Plains Cave, and Preston Falls. Continue to Castra and take the C124 south through Nietta on to the Leven Canyon. A short walk gives you a view of the Canyon before your retrace your trip to the turn-off to Upper Castra and on to Wilmot where you can see the original Coles Store.

Continue south down the C132 to Moina and turn east onto the C136 to the turn-off north to Staverton and Roland on the C140 along the Lake Barrington rowing course. Tasmazia is on the left just after Staverton then continue north through West Kentish into Sheffield. There are plenty of places to get something to eat here and spend a little time exploring the town and murals. There is a museum on the left as you enter the town.

Leave Sheffield along the same road but continue on to Barrington and Lower Barrington where you cross the River on the C145 and go north to Sprent and Forth before rejoining the highway just east of Ulverstone.

There are lots of picnic spots along the way and a stop at the Forth Hotel is a great way to complete your round trip of the Ulverstone - Penguin region.
