THE LODDON VALLEY
The Loddon Valley, as its name suggests,is the area either side of the river which flows
west of the Loddon Valley Hwy to the Murray River at Kerang. It also includes the valley of
the Avoca River which rises in the Pyrenees region and joins the Loddon near Lake Charm.
The region is mainly grain and sheep producing country with small service towns providing for
the primary producers.
The main towns are Wycheproof, Charlton, Boort, Culgoa and Quambatook. While small, these
towns have good services and accommodation.
On the northern fringe are Swan Hill, Kerang and Cohuna, towns along the Murray Valley Hwy
and good centres for touring both areas.
Use the accommodation search at right for accommodation in the area and the Accommodation
link at left for specific towns.
A suggested round trip is marked in orange on the touring map.
