SOUTH GIPPSLAND

This area south east of Melbourne includes several of Victoria's most popular attractions including Phillip Island and its famed Penguin Parade, Wilsons Promontory, Australia's most southerly mainland and a popular national park, and the highly productive Latrobe Valley, source of Victoria's power supplies.
The southern section is reached along the Monash Freeway to Dandenong and then south through Cranbourne along the South Gippsland Highway to the Bass Highway. The eastern section is reached by continuing along the Princes Highway from Dandenong through Warragul. A suggested round trip is marked in orange on the touring map.
