MACEDON RANGES

The Macedon Ranges are located north west of Melbourne along the Calder Hwy and are best known for the wineries and the attractive small towns along the highway offering galleries and crafts.
Near Woodend Hanging Rock is a popular destination where the film of the same name was made and just west of the highway the Spa Country including Daylesford and Hepburn Springs is often included in a round trip.

There is an historirc precinct in Gisborne, an old mill in Malmsbury and every town has a bakery, coffee shop, and some delightful cafes, many making their own cakes and specialties.
The Macedon Ranges are a place for exploring and relaxing. It is not a destination where you need to climb a certain point, see a certain attraction, or walk a certain trail. It is a whole area of interest and diversity and you should just take a couple of days to follow your nose to all it has to offer.
